Today, Liquid Stock introduced the launch of an innovative fund that offers liquidity to shareholders and employees of privately held companies. The first fully independent and institutionally backed fund, its strategy aligns interests by making option holders into owners. This gives companies an alternative to tender offers, and gives shareholders and employees their stocks’ full values. Funds managed by Coller Capital, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and Morgan Stanley AIP have entered into a strategic partnership with Liquid that includes large funding commitments.
Liquid is positioned to lead the industry in providing capital to private company employees through tax-efficient, company-wide share purchase programs. Their leadership team represents prior success in liquidity solutions, private equity and venture capital investing.
“Our team brings a long history with a strong track record of collaboratively solving the challenges faced by private companies and their employees,” said Robert Pitti, founding partner of Liquid. “Our strategic investors provide Liquid the ability to scale immediately to meet the needs of even the largest private companies, as well as a deep understanding of the global markets.”
Chief Investment Officer Jeremy Coller of Coller Capital commented, “This is an innovative product that enhances liquidity options for those who work and invest in privately held businesses. We’re pleased to be partnering with Liquid in this exciting development.”
